Week of Fasting and Prayer Instructions

Week of Fasting and Prayer

The week of March 30  to April 5, 2025  is our TORSOE Spring Week of Fasting and Prayer.  We will meet on our zoom channel at 6:00 am and 7:00 pm daily.  The morning meeting is one hour.  The evening meeting will be between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

We will be doing a juice fast.  Because fresh vegetable juice with some fruit juices contain concentrated nutrients, we refer to the fast as a juice feast.  Below, you will find some instructions and guidelines for the juice feast.

This Week of Fasting and Prayer coincides with our first juice feast that we promote in our TORSOE Master Educator and Master Coach Certification Course.  We ask that our students do at least three days of juice feasting out of the seven.

This protocol gives you instructions as to the SIMPLICITY of a  juice feast the REFRESHING way!  We refer to this protocol as a juice feast because juices are packed with micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals.  You cannot eat the amount  of vegetables and fruits that are needed to make the juices.  Therefore, you are getting most of the the nutrients from large amounts of vegetables and fruits, and that is why this is a feast and not a fast.

The first step is to determine if you need to be restricted in your sugar intake.  You definitely need to restrict your sugar intake if: (1) you have diabetes; (2) you have severe low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), or (3) you have candida yeast overgrowth.  If you have questions about this, consult with Pastor Flemons.  Follow the instructions in this this document entitled “Candida Test” to determine if you have candida yeast overgrowth.   Other tests are needed to determine if you are diabetic, have hypoglycemia, or postprandial syndrome, which renders .

You may get hungry during the juice feast, but you should endure.  If your hunger is unbearable, you can make a vegetable broth, a fruit and nut shake, or chia gel.  If you have sugar restrictions, you should only do the potassium broth or the chia gel with stevia sweetened lemonade.  The recipes are included.

There are two juice feast portion sizes and three juice feast recipes.  Juice Feast Portion Size #1 gives you 3 quarts (96 oz per day).    Juice Feast Portion Size #2 gives you 3 pints (48 oz per day).  Juice Feast Recipe #1 is for general juicing for most people.  Juice Feast Recipe #2 is for those with sugar restrictions such as those with diabetes, hypoglycemia, or candida yeast infection.  Juice Feast Recipe #3 is for those with medical problems of the reproductive organs including breasts, ovaries, uterus, prostate, etc.  This recipe does not contain carrot juice which is high in plant estrogens.  One cause of the diseases of the reproductive organs is excessive estrogen.

If you are using juice feast portion #1, you will drink 3 quarts or liters per day.   Each quart or liter is to be consumed within 3 hours.  Drink approximately 10 oz at a time about an hour apart.  In other words, if you start at 8:00 am with the first quart, drink about 10 oz at 8:00 am, about 10 oz at 9:00 am, and about 10 oz at 10:00. With this schedule, you would be starting the first 10 oz of the second quart at 11:00 am and continuing to drink approximately 10 oz each hour until all three quarts are consumed.  If you miss a drink, catch up as best you can.

If you are using juice feast portion #2, you will drink 3 pints per day.  Each pint is to be consumed within 3 hours.  Drink approximately 8 oz at a time about an hour and a half apart.  In other words, if you start at 8:00 am with the first pint, drink about 8 oz at 8:00 am, and about 8 oz at 9:30 am. With this schedule, you would be drinking approximately the first 8 oz of the second pint at 11:00 a.m. and continuing to drink approximately 8 oz each hour and a half until all three pints are consumed.  If you miss a drink, catch up as best you can.

Recommended Juicer

A cold-pressed, slow masticating juicer such as the NAMA juicers are the best.     If you cannot afford a NAMA juicer, there are some NAMA alternatives that you will find Amazon.  Just type “NAMA JUICER ” in the search bar and some of the less expensive alternatives will be shown. These juicers juice the dark green leaves much better than centrifugal juicers and are less expensive that the Norwalk Juicer.  There are double and single auger juicers such as the Green Star, Omega and the Slow Star Juicers that are also good.  These require more work, but do a good job.

Type, Amount, and preparation of Produce

We recommend organic produce if it can be homegrown or purchased.  If it cannot be obtained, use other produce.  The amount of produce to obtain depends upon the juicer.  The juicers recommended in this document yield considerably more juice than centrifugal juicers. It is recommended that you buy some produce.  Juice one type of produce at a time and measure the output of each specific type of produce.  Write down your findings and you will know approximately how much of each vegetable to buy as you look at the juice feast recipe.

Juicing Best Practices

Wash your hands, utensils and cutting board in warm soapy water before juicing. However, do not use soaps or detergents to wash produce.  Studies have shown that cold, running water is just as good at removing microbes as vegetable wash. For thick produce, use a vegetable brush to help remove microbes and dirt.  Produce with a lot of nooks and crannies like broccoli, cauliflower, and lettuce should be soaked in cold water for 1-2 minutes in cold, clean water.  Fragile produce should be put in a colander and sprayed with distilled water.  The tops of carrots should be cut off.  Carrots should then be scrubbed but not peeled. Beets should be peeled. You can also juice the beet tops.  The bottoms of celery stalks should be cut off.

Candida Test

Before going to bed, pour at least 3 inches of water into a clear plastic or glass cup or jar.  Keep this cup or jar by your bedside. Upon arising and before anything comes into your mouth, spit into the glass or cup.  Watch the sputum every 5 minutes for half an hour.  If the sputum floats, you do not have candida. If the sputum sinks within 30 minutes, you do have excessive candida in your body.  The speed at which it sinks and the amount of the sputum that sinks is an indicator of the severity of the candida.

The science behind this test is that the candida spores are heavier than the mucus “raft.” formed by your sputum.  These candida spores will bore holes in the mucus raft formed by your sputum and cause it to sink before the proteins forming the raft break down.

TORSOE Potassium Broth

Ingredients

4 Potatoes

2 Tomatoes

1 Bunch of Kale

1 Head Broccoli

1/4 Head of Cabbage

2 Onions

1 Bulb Garlic

1 Red Pepper

1 stem of leek

1 Tbsp dried parsley or a handful of fresh parsley

1/2 Cup Nutritional Yeast

optional Fresh Basil (2 bunches or Tbsp of dried basil)

1Tbsp of Herbamare or Salt

optional – additional 1 Tbsp. garlic powder and 2 Tbsp. onion granules or powders for flavor

Wash vegetables and chop into large chunks. In a large pot, boil vegetables in 2 gallons of pure water until vegetables are soft. Do not mash or blend cooked vegetables. Strain and discard vegetables. Add seasonings to the liquid in the pot.

Drink according to the instructions given by your wellness coach!

NOTE:

You do not have to follow this recipe strictly.  Eating the broth of a variety of cooked vegetables will help.  Alternately, you can use a high powered blender such as a VitaMix or a Blendtec and blend vegetables to a make a soup by blending the vegetables in water or a liquid base for about 5 minutes.  If you use potatoes, they should be cooked until soft before blending.

Fruit – Nut Shake

Blend 1 cup of nuts with 2 cups of water or fruit juice until smooth. Add fresh or frozen berries such as strawberries or blueberries. Sweeten with Honey, Stevia, Xylitol or Agave as directed by your practitioner. Less water will make it thicker. More water will make it thinner. You can even add alfalfa and other sprouts for added nutrition.  Times of Refreshing AAA Supertonic can also be added.

Chia Gel

In The Evening, Stir The Following Together Until Clumps Are Gone:

1/2 cup of chia seeds

2 cups grape juice

1 cup water.

Place in Refrigerator overnight.  Stir again in the morning.  It is then ready to serve.

Drink 1/4 – 1/2 cup at each serving.

Special Note:

For those with candida, diabetes, or anyone on sugar restrictions, substitute stevia or xylitol sweetened lemonade for grape juice:

TOR Coffee Retention Enema

To Make the Coffee

To make the coffee, add 6 heaping tablespoons of organic ground coffee to 2 quarts of steam distilled water, (3 heaping TBSP per quart).  Do not use instant or decaffeinated coffee.  Boil the mixture for fifteen minutes.  Then, cool to a comfortable temperature and strain.  Refrigerate the coffee in a closed jar.

To do the coffee retention enema

Place  between 8 oz and a quart of the coffee into an enema bag.  The goal is to insert as much as you can hold for 15 minutes.  Connect the tubing  with the clamp to the enema bag.  Pointing the tip toward the sink and holding the bag higher than the tip, open the clamp to push all the air out of the tube by allowing a little coffee to flow out of the tip.  Clamp it promptly again after you have removed the air.  Lubricate the enema tip with Aloe gel, KY gel or its equivalent or with Vitamin E oil or castor oil.  If someone is helping you insert the tip, you should assume a  “rear up, head down” position to insert the tip if possible. After inserting the tip, unclamp it and raise the bag about 2 – 3 feet above the body.  After allowing the coffee to enter the rectum, lay on your right side for fifteen minutes before expelling the liquid. If inserting the tip yourself, lay on your right side with you left leg up and reach around the back to insert the tip.  Have the bag hanging from some point 2 – 3 feet above the body.  After inserting the tip, unclamp it.  The coffee will flow into the rectum and you will see the bag flatten out.  Don’t worry if the coffee does not come out right away.  It usually will.  You may have to pull the tip out slightly and back in order to clear any matter that may clogging it.

Consult your practitioner before continuing the coffee enemas for more than one month.

Walmart and other stores may carry organic coffee but we recommend stronger coffee from Cafe Ma’am. Here’s the link to purchase from cafemaam.   Under “GRIND” choose “Therapy Roast.”  Get 2 lbs at least.  If you cannot get or afford organic coffee, use regular, ground Folgers or Maxwell House.

CONTRAST SHOWERS and CONTRAST SOAKS

CONTRAST SHOWERS

  1. Take a 3 minutes shower as hot as you can stand it followed by 30 second cold shower.
  1. Immediately alternate back and forth from hot to cold  as stated above.  One treatment should be 3 to 7 complete rotations of hot to cold before you leave the shower
  1. Alternately, you can reduce the duration of each application of hot and cold by only doing 1 minute hot followed by 10 seconds cold.  The 3 to 7 complete rotations is still consistent.
  1. You should not allow your feet to touch a cold floor and rest in bed for 20 to 30 minutes after the treatment.

CONTRAST SOAKS

  1. Soak the affected are in water as hot as you can stand it for 5 – 7 minutes.  If you have neuropathy or some other condition where you might burn yourself because you cannot detect the actually heat, submerge your elbow in the water.  If it is too hot for the elbow, it is too hot for the lower extremities.  You may also want to put a thermometer in the water and bring it to 105 degrees.  This will not burn the skin.  However, only do warm water for infants, small children and very elderly people.   Many people can tolerate temperatures higher than 105 degrees, but that is a safe temperature for those 12 and older.
  1. After 5-7 minutes of submersion in warm or hot water, submerse the affected area in cold water for 1 minute.
  1. Immediately alternate back and forth from hot to cold  as stated above keeping the water has hot as you can stand it or using a thermometer to monitor the temperature.  One treatment should be 3 to 7 complete rotations of hot to cold.
